FAQS

Things You Want To Know

MD Interiors is committed to providing our clients with exceptional customer service. We have laid out a list of questions that are commonly asked by our clients. However, if there is something that we have missed please feel free to reach out. We would be more than happy to address any of your needs and answer any questions you have.

WHY HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?

Working with an interior designer can help you avoid making costly mistakes.  Interior Designers help their clients by providing direction from beginning to end; saving them time, money and headaches.  An Interior Designer does the legwork for you by visiting showrooms, specifying furniture and fixtures, selecting finishes, securing products and liaising with trades; to leave you with the extra time to focus on other things.  Interior Designers take into account the overall function of a space, as well as lighting, finishes, fixtures and other considerations unique to the space.  They help with setting priorities within their client's budget and have access to trade only resources, which can save their client's money.

WHAT'S THE VALUE OF MY INVESTMENT?

Or, alternatively, why should I pay for an Interior Designer?  If you wanted to do a bathroom renovation, would you hire a builder, plumber and electrician to do the work; or would you rather spend your well-deserved weekends doing it yourself? For some of us, that sounds like the perfect challenge and that's great.  But for those of you who don't have the time, but want a beautiful and unique end result, that's where MD Interiors comes in.

MD Interiors can:

- save you money by doing things right the first time

- save you time by completing the legwork

- access products exclusive to trade only

- access reputable trades and crafts people

- work collaboratively with trades, suppliers and architects

Putting your trust in an Interior Designer can be scary.  During the initial stages of a project, a lot of work isn't seen by the client. What you are not seeing are the long hours we put into each and every detail; going to showrooms to pick out samples, coordinating with suppliers to get product information and pricing, creating plans, elevations and 3D views.

It's an investment that can greatly enhance your living environment and bring you lasting enjoyment.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT?

Before our initial consultation, think about any styles you are drawn to, likes, dislikes, priorities, family needs, budget etc.

Starting a Pinterest board or collecting inspiration from magazines are a great way to visually communicate your likes and style ideas.  Sharing dislikes is also important, as it helps us source efficiently by recommending products that our client's resonate with.

CAN YOU ESTIMATE YOUR HOURS FOR MY PROJECT?

The project scope is different for each project and so hours spent will vary.  The majority of hours spent in the beginning of the process is sourcing, developing and concept design.  There is a lot of behind the scenes work happening at the start, such as visiting showrooms, creating mood boards, contacting trades to discuss the project scope, visiting suppliers, plans, elevations and 3D views etc.  After our initial meet and greet, if you wish to engage MD Interiors to assist you, we will complete an Interior Design Service Agreement and detailed fee schedule for your project.
